Human rights organizations in Mexico had launched quite a series of protest marches in the border city of Ciudad Juarez.
This had been in order for them to demand justice in the slaying of a prominent activist. An activist who had outspokenly talked against the Mexican military's alleged abuse issues.
Josefina Reyes, had been the activist that was among a group of human rights advocates. For an entire year, they had been protesting what it was that they had called the militarization of Juarez, known as Mexico's deadliest city.
