A decision to eliminate foreign investment caps for phone companies may be postponed by Mexico’s Senate, at least until next year. This particular move could potentially delay investments of carriers such as Axtel SAB.

There has been no agreement on some aspects of the law, that have yet been reached by Parties in Congress, and Tomas Torres, who is a member of the Senate’s communications and transportation committee, had said so himself.

From owning more than forty nine percent of a Mexican phone or Web provider, this new rule simply bars foreign companies.
