Mexican drug cartel a threat to the US -Dept of Justice
02/01/09 07:38
In its 2009 National Drug Assessment report, the US Department of Justice has named the Mexican Drug Trafficking Organizations (DTO) the greatest organized crime threat to the US.
Corpses of Mexicans assumed to be part of the drug war are seen everyday. These are not just small fights between gangs. These are widescale border wars involving high-tech arms from all parties involved, which fight for territory.
US officials have already warned that if these wars, which have crept their way to the US, Mexico may well turn into a narco-state in the coming years.
